It is one of the most picturesque spots of the lake and is said to be particularly appealing to writers and artists. The small church of San Vittore, unlike many Italian churches, is light and airy with beautiful silver candlesticks at the alter. The views from the island are superb as is Baveno and the mountains behind it. The island is also filled with excellent fish restaurants.
